PERFORMER ETIQUETTE
Larger trash cans will be provided in the bathrooms and backstage area, please be mindful of your own trash.
Please do not wear scented products on rehearsal/show days. Grips that have a smell to them are the only exception.
Please do not use aerosolized sprays in the building or backstage area.
Please do not apply lotion, even if it does not affect your performance, it can leave surfaces slippery and unsafe for other performers.
Each performer is responsible for keeping genitals and breasts covered during rehearsal and performance while in any space aside from backstage while actively changing. Utilizing tape and/or pasties to accomplish this is highly recommended. Please use the expertise of your instructors to be educated about how best to use these tools to prevent unintentional exposure.
Please be respectful of performers on stage by not speaking loudly in the wing, backstage or in the audience during other’s pieces, and entering and exiting the building while a performer is on stage.
Keep clear of the entrance and exit to the stage at all times to prevent bumping/pileups. If you want to watch pieces, you are invited to come watch them from the audience area.
SOLOISTS/DUETS
The growth at The Vertitude has been beyond our wildest imaginations in the last year, which also means that the length of shows has continued to grow with each one. Depending on the volume of interest for student soloists/duets for this show, we may have to limit the number of pieces accepted. Soloists/duets must be available to perform in both the matinee and evening shows. In determining performers, we will place priority on student performers who:
Have not performed at The Vertitude in the past two showcases;
Are utilizing the same piece for a competition they are signed up for, and provide proof of that sign-up; or
Have completed all required submission information by the deadlines given.
